Them Merphing is a breathtaking and intense contemporary dance performance, where dance celebrates the human experience. The piece is an instant choreography performance and a research of a surrendering body, the experience of being seen, and the kind of movements that one cannot hide behind.

What is it like to live in the city with a Stone Age mindset? What kind of “nature” is it if you look at it like a forest or a mammoth steppe? What kind of spirits and creatures move there? How are the ancestors present? What is a map like when it consists of stories? What game is there in the city and how do you catch it?
Hunter-gatherers was a social experiment where a band of urban hunter-gatherers lived in their camp in Kalasatama, Helsinki in August 2021.
The hunter-gatherers’ experiences were recorded into stories that you can listen to on the webpage.
The project will continue in 2022.
