CONTENT WARNINGS

For some content warnings are necessary, others don’t want them. The purpose of content warnings is to protect the audience member or participant from harmful, unsafe or disturbing content. At best, they protect the audience member’s mental well-being and prevent health crises. Some of us, on the other hand, feel that content warnings steer the experience in an unwanted way, leading one to evaluate the performance too much through them; they reveal or promise too much, and some want – because they can – to experience the performance as “directly” as possible, without buffers.

We don’t know with what experiences, backgrounds or characteristics our audience comes to our performances (we welcome everyone). That’s why we trust everyone’s ability to judge for themselves what they need to experience the performances in as accessible a way as possible.

Below is a link to current performance-specific content warnings. They first mention the warnings related to the physical space and situation, and then the warnings related to the content of the work. If you can’t find a performance on the list, it has no content warnings.
